APPLICATION OF MULTIMEDIA MAIZE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR WITHIN-SEASON PREDICTION IN NORTH CHINA
Maize growth Data under 0, 90, 180, 270, 360 kg N ha-1 in the field for two continuous seasons were used for testing the Multimedia Maize Management System (MMMS), especially its nitrogen module. The results indicated that 1) Phenology prediction were close, with most prediction errors of <5%; 2) As concerning the yield and biomass, there were greater deviation in model predictions, yet the relative errors also were reasonable within <10%; 3) The total N uptake prediction wasnt good, but there was a significant positive correlation relationship between predictions and observations of grain N uptake. This showed that certain parameters within nitrogen simulation module of MMMS should be adjusted and revised according to local experiment data.
