IMAGE PROCESSING SYSTEM FOR APPRAISING SEED PURITY

Seed purity is very important index for sellers and farmers. For crossbred corn, if seed purity is increased 1%, will crop yield be increased 10%. In recent years, cases of low seed purity causing crop yield reduce or no yield always takes place. Economic loss is very great. Although many conventional methods such as albumen electrophoresis, burgeon rate experiment can measure seed purity, whose data processing speed and accuracy of result analysis cannot satisfy the seed production. Computers character of high speed, large information store and many function are well known. Up to now, there is no research on corn seed purity appraisal with image processing. So we study image processing system to appraise seed purity quickly and effectively.
