RESEARCH ON DEVELOPING TECHNOLOGY OF GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR OLD TREES

摘要：

To realize the informationized management of old trees, from 1997 to 2000, the old trees in the Fragrant Hills Park were surveyed and the archives were set up. On the basis of old trees archives, the information management system for old trees was developed. It includes three parts: Management Information System (MIS), Geographic Information System (GIS) and Web information query system .In this paper GIS for old trees was developed, to meet the requirement of the modernized management, by using VB (Visual Basic) language in network environment as the developing tool, using Oracle to manage the data of the characters of old trees, and keeping the same source of data of MIS and Web Information Query System. All the old trees can be viewed on the screen, and the related data can be queried. The spatial analysis and planning and designing can be conducted, therefore, the systematic and scientifical management of old trees is realized.
