INTRODUTION OF APPLICATION OF 3S TECHNOLOGY IN FORESTRY

摘要：

This paper discusses the application of 3S technology (GPS, S and RS) in forestry, i.e., global positioning system, geographic information system and remote sensing. As a new system of methodology, 3S technology can overcome the disadvantages of conventional methods used in forestry. The specific application includes; forest management, rare wildlife investigation, forest vegetation survey, forest fire monitoring, forest insect and disease control, and forest mapping.
