EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE BEHAVIOR MECHANISM OF SELF-COMPACTING CONCRETE FILLED STEEL TUBE COLUMNS WITH CIRCULAR SECTION
This paper presents an experimental study on the behavior mechanism of self-compacting concrete filled steel tube stub columns with circular section concentrically loaded in compression to failure.Four test methods on the axial deformation of specimens were compared.9 specimens were tested to investigate the effect of compressive strength of concrete, small hole notched and full perimeter direction hole notched with different vertical dimension at steel tube on the ultimate capacity and the load-deformation behavior of the tube columns.Experimental results show that once the steel tube notched, deformation ability would be reduced, sometimes the ultimate capacity also be reduced. Therefore, based on test results, the behavior mechanism of these stub columns for confinement was discussed. The work in this paper provides a basis for the further non-linear analysis and design of self-compacting concrete filled steel tube columns.
