Geological Heritage of India-A Window for Geotourism
INTRODUCTION Geotourism is a new trend in travel. It is a unique creative link between nature and culture that can be developed in areas of important geological attractions. Geotourists are inclined to seek unique geoenvironmental experiences with their travel. They are environment friendly un like urban tourists, who are attracted to large city destinations.Tourism today is one of the most rewarding industries, attracting people not only from the near by areas, but also from far flung areas, including overseas. The increasing infrastructure facilities like telecommunication, approach, accommodation, etc is opening up new tourist destinations even in remote areas. Availability of quality packed food material, increasing income, changing mind set, are all today alluring more and more people to tourism.
