Fine Particles in Ezperiments on Destruction of Rocks by Repeated Ezplosions

The experimental study of nano-and microscale particle formation during five repeated explosions at the site in the Fennoscandian granite massif near Vyborg is carried out. A possibility of formation of nanoscale particles during largescale chemical explosions has been confirmed. The minimum size of particles detected in this study is about 40 mn. An analysis of the granulometric composition of the destructed medium and its comparison with the Rozin-Rammler and Kolmogorov theoretical distributions is performed. It is shown that the role of multiple crushing increases with an increase in the number of explosions. However, most of splinter-type particles with sizes exceeding 40 μm are formed as a result of single-shot crushing. Within the limit of accuracy of the experiments no strength limit of the material constituting the particles has been determined.
