Ezplosion Vessel for Simulating Ezploding in Deep Water of Small Charge

In order to research the explosion effect in deep water, the environment of deepwater is simulated by increasing the air pressure above the water surface. The spherical explosion vessel is designed as φ1.5 m, in which the case deep as 250 meters water can be simulated. By this vessel the parameters of 8# detonator have been measured and calculated, such as explosion strength, equivalent steady load and the dynamic strength. Basing on the experiment in less 150 meters deepwater, the conclusion are obtained: it is the linear relationship between the increment of the air pressure and the simulated hydrostatic pressure; the correlation coefficient is 0.9997 of the related equations; the reflected shock wave on the shell is just 1.5 percent lower than the calculating value; the pressure of the shock wave doesnt change with the depth of the water; the period of the bubble impulsion weakens in exponential form when the depth is less 30 m, but in linear form when the depth value is between 30 m and 150 m; the error of the pressure and the period from the experiment and the calculation are 0.2% and -4.3%. The maximal radius of the bubble is reducing following the increment of the depth of the water.
