Influence of Ball Mill Operating Parameters on Grinding Effect
Ball mills are widely used in mineral processing, petrochemical industry, metallurgy and other industries since its coming out. Experts home and abroad have done much work on how to improve the working efficiency of ball mill, enriched the working theories of ball mills and moving theories of medium. In this paper, the grinding effect of diameters of balls, rotate speed of ball mills and grinding time on ball mills are studied by using a columnar ball mill, its dimension φ160 mm×180 mm. From the results, we can see, with the augment of diameters of balls, the effecting of rotate speed of ball mills to contents of-0.079~+0.010 mm granularity minish gradually. And increment is changeless in the same interval. When the diameters of balls reach to 35 mm, the contents of two granularities, which are -0.010 mm and -0.079-~+0.010 mm, are increasing first and then decreasing. The content of -0.010 mm granularity in output minishes evidently at the rotate speeds of ball mills are 90 r/min or 100 r/min. In other words, the working efficiency of ball mill can be improved evidently by using bigger balls when the rotate speed ratio of ball mill is lower than critical rotate speed.Compared with the rotate speed ratios of hall mill, which are now widely used in industry, we can conclude that it is on the low side obviously. So increase the rotate speed ratio of hall mill properly can improve the working efficiency of bali mills and ameliorate the grain composition of grinding outcomes, consequently optimize the concentration index.
