Peculiarities of Hole Blasting Applied in Induced Sublevel Caving
The most important reason of unsatisfactory ore fragmentation is strong seismic effect of blasting to the direction opposite the line of least resistance, which is accompanied by the formation of a crushed zone and natural blocks, which is unfavourable for quality fragmentation. In order to understand the reasons of holes damage, some experiments were carried out in the Khibiny underground mines to determine the influence of blasting operations on the state of holes in subsequent radial rows. The state of holes has been studied by supersonic logging and televiewer surveying.
