Blasting Operations in Combined Geotechnologies

The establishment and development of new methods of mineral resources is inextricably linked with the search for new technologies, including the explosive disintegration of rocks, using the demilitarization explosive materials (DEM).DEM are characterized by high detonation parameters, controllable bulk concentration of energy, and handling properties providing for the application of these materials in combined geotechnoiogies. Tubular charge of explosive, due to the channel wave and jet stream, produces the blast effect providing for the enhanced blast performance in the bottom part of a hole. Tubular charges are used also for the fragmentation of resistant rock bands, for breakage in conditions of the growing cutting and friction resistance, and in conditions of stump blasting at the turn of the bench slope and bottom. A ring jet charge (RJC) is a cylindrical charge. The charge hollow is located on the lateral surface of the charge and it has 3~8 mm thick steel liner. With the RJC charge blasting the joint hollow-charge and crater effect of the charge in a plane, which is perpendicular to the hole axis, forms a cavity and a circular fracture.
