The Status and Development of Logistics Cost Management:Evidence from the Mainland

Supply chain logistics cost management is an important research topic in supply chain management, which is regarded as a main indicator reflecting the efficiency of logistics activities. Based on survey of 120 China companies from several major industries in China, this paper present current logistics cost management practice of Chinese enterprises and identifies issues constrained the efficiency of logistics cost management. Results shows that although more and more firms recognize the importance of logistics cost management, Chinese enterprises should improve a lot on the aspect of logistics costing system, reporting system and intra-organizational team collaboration.
