The analysis of e-commerce business model based on the virtual value chain

How to deal with the world financial crisis in 2008, reduce the impact of economic downturn on the corporate entities, e-commerce brings hope for the benefits of high-performance and low-cost. With the help of e-commerce, the supply chain will be mole efficiency, companies could sale goods in many areas without additional sales outlets. E-commerce has become an important means of business activities for enterprises. How traditional enterprise migrate from the physical market place to the virtual market space of e-commerce with successful relocation rather than money-burning, the choice of business model is the key, this paper analyses the e-commerce business model based on the virtual value chain, expands the classification framework proposed by Professor Peter Weill, attempts to bring benefit thinking for the innovation of enterprise e-commerce business model.
