Student Perceptions of the Value of Accounting Internships
An internship provides an opportunity for a student to work for a firm or business for a defined period of time. Such arrangements provide many benefits to the student, employer, and university. In this study, students who participated in internships with a wide variety of employers were asked for feedback on various aspects of their internship experiences. Overall, the student perceptions of their internships were very positive. Given the wide variety of internship experiences, the results would seem to imply that the benefits of an internship are not limited to employers of a certain size or type.
