Influence of RMB Appreciation on Import Sources of Agricultural Products
This paper takes the monthly data of Chinas imports of agricultural products from every continent from July, 2005 to April 2008 as a specimen period to analyze the influences of Chinas economic growth and RMB revaluation on Chinas imports of agricultural products from every continent Demonstration result indicates mat the economic growth of China stimulates the growth of the agricultural products import from Asia, Europe, South America, Norm America and Oceania. And RMB revaluation lias former speeder up Chinas imports of agricultural products from Asia, Europe, South America and Oceania while slowed down mat of other continents. We find that both economic growth and RMB revaluation have no positive influence on Chinas imports of agricultural product from Africa. The difference probably results from the comparative superiority between economy of China and every continent.
