Analysis of Benefit due to Ecological Treatment of Karst Rocky Desertification Based on Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Model--A case Study on Duan Yao Autonomous County in Guangzi,China

In the karst area in southwest China. The natural conditions for agricultural production is vulnerable,and the ecological system is fragile,moreover,there are other long-existing,severe ecological and environmental problems such as rocky desertification,water loss and soil erosion,etc.Chinese government has taken a series of ecological and environmental treatment measures in the karst areas and attained some preliminary effect.However,scientific evaluation shall be executed in regard to the final result of such treatment.As a result,a set of complete,reasonable and scientific methodologies and systems shall be established for the benefit assessment of ecological and environmental treatment of karst areas,which the authors believe would be of great theoretical and instruction significance for making and implementation of policies in regard to ecological and environmental treatment of karst areas.For this purpose,Duan County in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was selected as a sample area for rocky desertification control. Investigation results were obtained prior to and after the comprehensive treatment in the past four years.which indicates that positive results have been achieved in ecological,economical and social benefits by the comprehensive measures for rocky desertification control. In this paper the principle of fuzzy level comprehensive evaluation was applied to integrated assessment of the benefit due to ecological treatment of rockv desertification,and establishment of an index system for such assessment. The index system consists of indices in three categories,i.e.,ecological benefit,economical development level and social development level,and 10 assessment factors such as forest and grass coverage.Calculation results for this typical sample indicate that the methodology can be promoted for rocky desertification treatment study.
