CSP(R)- Compact Strip Production: 20 Years of Success of an Outstanding Technology
CSP(R) is up to now the most recent innovation to have made lasting changes to the steel industry. Owing to the low investment and conversion costs, steel companies are still continuing to make use of CSP(R) to gain entry to the flat products market. Furthermore, due to the special process conditions, CSP(R) is suitable for the production of high value-added steel grades. For established steel manufacturers, CSP(R) is therefore a means of optimizing the overall production in a manner that does justice to all of the different plants in use. Nevertheless, certain special situations or customers wishes make it necessary to extend the CSP(R) concept or find new alternatives to it. Also in the future, SMS Demag will be working on the further development of CSP(R) technology. An example is the continuous casting of particularly crack-sensitive steel grades.
