Analysis and Countermeasures for Thread Heave Defect on Surface of Galvanized Cold Strips
The thread heave defect on galvanized strips produced by Han-steel Group Cold Rolling Plant is analyzed with optical microscope and scanning electron microscope. The tests carried out during cold roiling and galvanizing processes confirm that the main reasons of such defect include split crack of hot strip and fish tail occurred in cold rolling and galvanizing processes. The occurrence of thread heave defect on galvanized cold strip has been minimized by taking effective countermeasures.
