Effect of Controlled Rolling and Controlled Cooling on Mechanical Properties of Low Carbon Nb-Ti-B Steels

Continuous cooling transformation diagram of low carbon Nb-Ti-B steel hot deformation was determined by using Gleeble-1500 hot simulator. Effect of controlled rolling and controlled cooling on developing of high strength plate girder for automobile by FTSR process was investigated. Microstructure morphology and precipitates of experimental steel were observed by OM, SEM, TEM. Thermal simulation results revealed that bainite structure could be obtained at a cooling rate more than 10℃/s adding with Nb, Ti, B microalloy elements. The results indicated that the properties of experimental steel would be better when controlled rolling and cooling in recrystallization and non-recrystallization areas separately, ferrite could be refined to 5~10μm. After rolling, the phase transition temperature of plate was controlled by laminar cooling and the composition of organization would be controlled.
