The Study of Microbial Flooding in Gasi Reservoir

The average temperature of Gasi reservoir is 65℃ in Yuejin district of Qinghai oil field, and the formation water has high salinity about 10~17×104ppm. In order to investigate the feasibility of improving oil recovery, we analyzed the categories and the concentration of microbes in the formation water, and then isolated one thermophilic and halophilic strain of hydrocarbon degrading bacteria which can yield biosurfactant, lower the surface tension of the fermentation liquor, alter the wettability of the rock, so we developed the method by microbial technology to enhance oil recovery (MEOR).
