Nonlinear Model of Gas Flow in Tight Reservoirs Considering Irreducible Water and Their Application to Production Practices

The development of gas fields and laboratory experiment present that the gas threshold pressure gradient (GTPG), which the gas displacement pressure required to exceed, could cause the damage of water-blocking in the exploitation of tight gas reservoirs. Results from laboratory observations indicated that the GTPG is correlated with low permeability, adverse high initial water saturation. Accordingly a macro scale extension of Darcys model is established, which integrates the inertial effect and the GTPG Furthermore, analytical solutions for two-dimensional gas flow in porous media could be readily derived by the following solution procedures in the literature.
