Calculation of Earth Pressure on the Condition of Seepage for Non-waterproof Retaining Structure
Excavation in thick clayed soil layers with low permeability in general is adopted non-waterproof retaining structure. So groundwater seepages in side way and brings impact non-ignored on the calculation of the earth pressure. There is a larger deviation between the results of standard calculation and the measured value of earth pressure in clayey soil layers when seepage exits. Seepage path on both sides of excavation are took into account in this paper to obtain a new calculation method for the earth pressure under the terms of seepage in non-waterproof retaining structure.
