A Molecular Picture of Seasonal Influenza

In this talk we review a biophysical method for prediction of transcription factor affinity to binding sites on the DNA. The affinity prediction is calibrated to reproduce ChiP-chip values where these are available, while also allowing for prediction solely based on a weight matrix description of a binding site. We also computed statistics for the significance of the affinity values, which allows comparing predicted binding behavior of different factors. Further, we computed tissue specific transcription factors by analyzing promoters from sets of tissue specific genes. Results confirm established knowledge and provide several new predictions.
