Construction of comprehensive gene network for mitochondria

BackgroundKnown as an energy factory, mitochondria is the key unit in eukaryotic cells. However, it was fotmd recently that mitochondria plays important roles in cell growth, cell division, apoptosis as well as metabolism, and its dysfunction is widely related to many common diseases like heart disease, diabetes,Parkinson disease and dementia. Therefore,understanding molecular regulation and biochemical mechanism for mitochondria at system level is required.Data & MethodsKnowledge from literatures and databases were integrated to construct the comprehensive gene network for mitochondria. The detail process is shown in figure 1.
