UNITARY--MUSIC AND ITS PARALLEL DESIGN FOR DOA ESTIMATION
A real-valued (unitary) formulation of the Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC) algorithm is considered, in this paper. This Unitary-MUSIC algorithm reduces the computational complexity because it exploits the eigenvalue decomposition of a real-valued covariance matrix and it only needes to compute real-valued manifold in the stage of MUSIC spectrum peak search.Additionally, our simulations demonstrate that Unitary-MUSIC provides better performance than the conventional MUSIC algorithm. Finally, a parallel design for the Unitary-MUSIC is presented. The parallel structure allows a substantial increase in the speed of the implement of the Unitary-MUSIC. The efficiency of the parallel design is verified via the Lyrtech proto type based on multiple Digital Signal Processors (DSPs).
