PILOT-AIDED CHANNEL ESTIMATION IN ANGLE DOMAIN FOR MIMO-OFDM SYSTEMS

This paper presents a phase shifted orthogonal angle-domain LS (PSO-ALS) algorithm for the estimation of frequency-selective channels in MIMO-OFDM systems. For angle domain, MIMO channels can be assumed to be independent. Thus, most significant taps (MST) technique in angle domain is used to improve classical phase shifted orthogonal LS (PSO-LS) algorithm which is designed based on minimizing channel estimation mean square error (MSE). The proposed algorithm which is simulated under different channel models has low complexity without the need of prior knowledge of channel correlation.Simulation results show that the proposed PSO-ALS algorithm perform good mean square error (MSE) performance under outdoor channel models.
