Study on Minimum Sea Outflow in Tianjin City
With the high-intensity development and utilization of water resources in the Hai fiver basin within the last 30~40 years, and fast speed-up urbanization and industrialization, Tianjin city which is located in the lower reach of Hai river, is facing serious water shortage. As a result, the estuary salinity is increased, and sea pollution is worsen, eutrophication and red tides happen frequently. To reasonably control the estuary ecosystem structure, protect the water quality and realize the sustainable utilization of sea resources, we discussed the lowest amount of sea outflow from Tianjin city to the Bo Sea, and calculated a fresh water demand between April and June for the purpose of protecting coastal biodiversity and restoring the sea area ecosystem. The results show that a minimum annual amount of sea outflow of 1.32 billion m3 should be guaranteed and 0.2 billion m3 fresh water between April and June is let off.
