Calculation Method of Net Groundwater Use and Its Application on the Hai Basin
(0) Excessive groundwater exploitation not only causes groundwater resources depletion and drying up of absorption wells, but also generates ground layer depression and irreversible geohydrologic hazard. How to scientifically manage groundwater and carry out sustainable development and use has been a worldwide difficulty. In recent years, the concept of Net Groundwater Use (NGU for short) has been proposed based on ideas of sustainable development. This paper has discussed the connotation of NGU and, based on techniques of remote sensing monitoring and geographical information, developed a detailed calculation method, made an application analysis according to the practical situation of the Hal Basin, and offered the temporal and spatial distribution of NGU in the Hai Basin plain area, which can be used as a reference for the basin groundwater management.
