Homology Modeling and Molecular Docking of Locust Odorant Binding Protein
Odorant binding proteins (OBPs) are shown to be required for olfaction, thus they may represent possible targets for interfering with the chemical communication of insects to control their populations. So far only one OBP (LmigOBPl) has been identified in the antennae of Locusta migratoria 1. The fluorescence assays indicate that LmigOBPl shows high affinity to some linear aliphatic compounds, pentadecanol and 2-pentadecanone being the strongest binding ligands.
