Issues of Safety in the Use of Industrial Fibres in Russian Federation
Variety of industrial fibers widely used at present may be subdivided to man made and natural. Natural fibres include animal fibres, vegetable fibers and mineral fibres (asbestos, zeolites, wollastonite, vermiculite, etc.). Man made fibres may be subdivided to semi-synthetic non-organic fibers (multiple varieties representing glass, stone, slag, ceramic fibres etc.); semi-synthetic organic fibers (different types of cellulose fibres etc); carbon fibres; and synthetic fibres (polyethylene, polyester, polyamide etc.). There are also some other classification systems for industrial fibres.
