A Comparative Case Study on Technological Innovator Network: the Drivers, Barriers, and Challenges1
This paper is a comparative case study on technological innovator network (TIN) of a Chinese and a Europeanbased manufacturing company by the approach of innovation system and social network analysis. It tries to reveal the sophisticated pattern and process of social interaction within and across organisational boundary and their impact on technological innovation at the firms level in different national, industrial, and organisational context. The main concerns of this paper are the structure and performance of the TIN of these two companies. We also try to understand the drivers and barriers, as well as challenges of these two companys TINs so as to illuminate valuable implications for both industrial practitioners and government policymakers..
