Impact of Governmental R&D Subsidies on Industrial Innovation: Microeconometric Evidence from Zhejiang
The paper investigates the effects of governmental subsidies, including direct subsidy and tax credit, on industrial, using a panel dataset of 2020 firms in Zhejiang, China, during 2003-2005. The microeconometric results suggest such policy instruments significantly stimulate firms selfsupported innovation-related investment and expenditure of research projects. But the results also imply governmental subsidy may change layout of self-supported expenditure.
