The Linkage of R&D Subsidies and Self-Supported Innovation Input in Hi-Tech Companies: Microeconometric Evidence from Zhejiang
The paper investigates the effects of governmental subsidies, including direct subsidy and tax credit, on Hi-Tech companies innovation input, using a panel dataset of 2020 firms in Zhejiang, China, during 2003 ~ 2005. The microeconometric results suggest that such policy instruments could significantly stimulate companys self-sup-ported innovation-related investment and expenditure of research projects. But the results also imply governmental subsidy may change layout of self-supported expenditure.
