Effect of coating heat transfer surface on the crystallization fouling (IWAE2008)
Fouling of heat transfer surface is a serious problem in many industrial fields. In this paper, Ni-P coating with different microstructure was prepared on the mild carbon steel substrate by adjusting the electroless plating processing parameter. The effect of microstructure of the coating on surface free energy and adhesion of fouling was investigated. The experimental results showed that the microstructure of the coating had a significant influence on the surface free energy and the adhesion of the crystallization fouling. The surface free energies of the Ni-P coatings were altered by the formation of nanocrystalline phase in the coating. Compared with uncoated carbon steel heat transfer surface, anti-fouling experiments showed these coating surfaces could inhibit greatly the adhesion of crystallization fouling.
