Contezt-driven Business Process Adaptation for ad hoc changes
The success of a business process depends on whether it meets its business goal as well as non-functional requirements in the context of business process-oriented applications. Adaptability is an important requirement that aims to dynamically and quickly reconfigure business processes to support new and rapidly changing business contexts. However, traditional process adaptation technologies-have problems to adapt to more dynamic ad hoc changes. In this paper we present a context driven business process adaptation approach in which business process context can be gathered and reasoned to modify business process structure in an efficient way to adjust business process capability to satisfy business requirements. We also demonstrate adaptation detective mechanism and strategies which provides real-time reaction to the process environment and flexible runtime adaptation to fluctuating business level demand. By comprising context driven technology-and autonomic business process adaptation strategies, the methodology offers flexibility and adaptability in business process management.
