Study on Seepage Control for Sluices and Dams on Thick Overburden Layer

According to some typical projects, this paper compares and analyzes the effective-ness of different seepage control measures, and mainly studies the seepage control effective-ness of cutoff wall with different locations and penetration depth with numerical simulation technology. Results show that the site of vertical anti-seepage measurement should Close to the upstream as much as possible, and the hydraulic gradient at the Key parts such as the in-take and outlet of groundwater is considerable, it is necessary to set sheet piles or short cut-off walls at these critical locations.
