Safety Inspection and Evaluation Analysis on Spillway Gate of Maodong Reservoir
Spillway gate of Maodong reservoir was built in the 1960s, Because of the limiting of technical and economic conditions at that time, the engineering existed many problems in the design, construction and materials. The spillway gate operated fourty years, it hasnt been repaired thoroughly, overall construction is aging, engineering disease phenomenon is outstanding, these effect safety operation of Maodong reservoir. Based on the literature stud-ies and understanding present situation of engineering management, This paper makes a com-prehensive field safety inspection, and check calculation Referring to the relevant design specification on the spillway gate, and carries out a synthetic analysis with the present prob-lem in the structure. On the basis of the Guidelines for Dam Safety Evaluation and Rules for Safety Appraisal of Sluices, the author gives Safety Evaluation. The results show that secur-ity level of the spillway gate is belong to C-class, and that the spillway gate should be strengthened as early as possible to assure its safe operation.
