A General Formula for Dam-Break Peak Discharge Based on Accelerating Genetic Algorithm
The determination of dam-break flood peak discharge is the key to dam-break flood numerical simulation. Based on the long-term observations and experiments, a lot of formu-las were proposed by academics at home and abroad. One of the formulas was comprehensive and theoretical, which was presented by Scholar Xie and was widely recognized by the engi-neers, and was called the dam-break peak discharge unified formula. However, since the uni-fied formula is complicated and difficult to be solved, which leads to a limit in the practical application. Based on the unified formula, a general formula of peak discharge calculation was proposed. An accelerating genetic algorithm with a feature of generalization in usage and high efficiency was used to solve the general formula.
