CHARACTERISTICS OF STREAMFLOW INFILTRATION IN THE PIEDMONT PLAIN OF HEBEI PROVINCE, CHINA
Correctly understanding of the streamflow infiltration characteristics is important to the rational utilization and evaluation of water resources. Several conclusions were drawn through the study on three typical river channel segments of Hebei piedmont plain. ∑Wu (upstream overall inflow) showed negative correlation with the φ value (infiltration rate per unit river length), as the upstream inflow increased to a certain level, the φ value trended to fluctuate at a certain range; we could make a rough estimate of infiltration quantity range, through analyzing the historic data of depth to underground table no matter the river is dry or not. So an empirical forecasting model of the φ value was established by statistical analysis method. And it was feasible to estimate infiltration rate per unit river length by this empirical model.
