EDGE-EFFECT OF ECOLOGICAL RIPARIAN ZONE
Ecological riparian zone is a transition zone between river ecosystem and land ecosystem interface, surface water and ground water, through which material, energy and information have been exchanged. Because ecological riparian zone is interlaced zone between different ecosystems in spacial structure, it has complex edge-effect, such as hydraulic edge-effect, ecological edge-effect and social economic edge-effect. Hydraulic edge-effect includes erosion of slope flow,scouting effect of river runoff and retarding flow of vegetation. Ecological riparian zone is the suitable living area, in which ecological edge-effect including negative effect of abnormal flow and positive effect of normal flow and intercepting pollution of vegetation is prominent. Whats more, ecological riparian zone provides rich biological resource, traveling resource, entertainment resource so that there are available social economic edge-effect in rural and urban riparian zone.
