MODELING OF THE SEWAGE WATER DISTRIBUTION IN THE SEA NEAR HANKO CITY OF FINLAND
CFD modeling has been applied to predict the sewage water distribution in the sea near Hanko city of Finland. Two wastewater release locations were chosen to investigate their difference in the sewage water distribution. Sea current, wind and water density effects are considered in the modeling. The flow pattern is very complicated due to wind effect and bottom topography. For example, the velocity distribution can be considerably different in bottom and in surface flows. Due to the complication of the flow pattern, the locations of the wastewater release outlet can give completely different distribution of the wastewater concentration in the sea.
