VERTICAL 2-D SEDIMENT NUMERICAL MODEL IN FRONT OF RESERVOIR DAM

A vertical 2-D sediment numerical model issue based on hydrodynamics equations is established in the paper. Different from previous research, the study wants to emphasize the importance of free water surface, grid auto-forming technology and the SIMPLE algorithm application in the vertical 2-D model. The discussion of boundary conditions of water and sediment near fiver bed and the dynamic visualization of flow motion issue forms the major concern of the present study. This model is also applied to the simulation of flow and sediment transport in front of the dam of Xiaolangdi reservoir.
