NUMERICAL SOLUTIONS OF BERTHING STABILITY BY WAVE-PERMEABLE BREAKWATER

The convention method of testing breakwaters by physical model was replaced by purely numerical model. Modified Boussinesq type wave equations were solved including a wave partial reflection and partial transmission term. By purely simulation method, ideal transmission coefficients of 0.35~0.40 were obtained, and berthing stability was analyzed in comparison with results of the physical model, it is concluded wave-permeable breakwater can be used to replace massive gravity type breakwater, especially in consideration of environmental requirement.
