ANALYZING OF STABLE SLOPE IN TIDAL SUPPLY CANALS (CASE STUDY-IRAN)

Shrimp farms in North TIAB in south of Iran with 50 shrimp farms (each farm has 20 ha. area) supply its water requirement from two canals. The width of these canals is variable between 6 to 17 meters. Two tidal earth canals convey sea water toward farms by gravity force and each farm pump its water requirement from these canals during 12 hours. The water fluctuation is including of 2 high tides and 2 low tides in 24 hours. Also different between high and low tide is about 3 meters. Now, sedimentation of supply canal in this site is the importance problem. So that after every 3 years sediment height in end of canal is increasing 1.5 to 2 meters and because of these sediments the farms can not pump water for enough time and the cost of dredging is so much for farmers and fishery. This study analyzed the stable longitudinal slope of canals so that sedimentation and erosion in canals decrease in minimum condition. In this study from MIKE11 software for analyzing of one dimensional sedimentation and erosion in supply canal was used.
