INCLINED JUMPS OVER SILLS PART 1 UPSTREAM GEOMETRY
In this experimental investigation the free water surface profiles of inclined (angle ψwith 0°≤ψ≤14°) hydraulic jumps upstream a sill are presented, analyzed and discussed. Two flow types of profiles are formed, A-type and B-type. Both profile types are investigated and pertinent experimental diagrams and empirical equations are presented. The A-type profiles are angle ψdependent while the B-type profiles appear to be free from angle ψ. All jump profiles are dimensionlessly presented and may be used by the hydraulic engineer when designing the stabilization of weak jumps through a sill.
