HYDRAULIC CONTROL OF SAFE OPERATION OF LARGE-SCALED HYPERVELOCITY DISCHARGE TUNNEL
Based on the hydraulic model test of a large-scaled hypervelocity discharge tunnel, the hydraulic control factors, including the characteristics of intake vortexes and measures to eliminate vortexes, aeration in the tunnel to reduce cavitation, and ski-jump energy dissipation at the outlet, etc., of safe operation of this kind of discharge tunnel are introduced in detail in this paper. The research findings show it is necessary to strictly control the operation pattern of large-scaled hypervelocity discharge ttmnel in order to achieve its safe operation on the basis of its optimized design.
