INCLINED JUMPS OVER SILLS PART 2 DOWNSTREAM GEOMETRY
In this experimental paper the geometrical characteristics of the weak supercritical water flow region beyond a sill -within an inclined open channel (0°≤ψ≤14°), are presented, analyzed and discussed. The dimensionless length of this region is investigated and the flow depth ratio, at the beginning and the end of the flow, as well. Moreover, the free surface profile is examined, and a pertinent equation-accompanied by a coefficients Table are given to accurately describe those profiles. A less accurate but more general equation is also given to those profiles for all channel slopes in order to help the hydraulic engineer when designing similar works.
