IDEAL TRANSIENT PROCESS OF UNSTEADY OPEN-CHANNEL FLOW
The transient process characteristics of unsteady open-channel flow is important for developing closed-loop control system for water diversion project. In this paper, nondimensional form of Saint Venant equations and ideal controller are utilized to examine the relation between transient process of open-channel and its characteristic including normal Froude number, checkup depth,channel length, and check structure. The delay time and water depth fluctuation indicating transient process of open-channel are analyzed with ideal controller. The numerical simulation results show that the ideal transient process can provide more general valuable information of open-channel for controller design.
