NUMERICAL SIMULATION ON THE FLOW FIELD OF INLET STRUCTURE OF DONGSONG PUMPING STATION
The flow pattern in inlet structure of a pumping station influences greatly on the inflow condition of pumps and the operation status of the pump unit. In this paper, the standard k-ε turbulence model together with FVM method were used to simulate the 3-dimensional flow within the forebay, suction sump and suction pipe of Dongsong pumping station operating under the design flow-rate. Two kinds of operating unit combination plans are analyzed. Plan 1 is unit 1, 2, 3 and 4 in operation while plan 2 is unit 1,2, 4 and 5 in operation. Although, there will be backflow and induced eddy in suction sump and forebay, the inflow condition of each operating pump is good under both operating plan. Comparatively, the whole flow pattern and inflow condition of plan 2 is better than that of plan 1. Under each operating plan, the inflow condition of adjust pump is better than that of main pump.
