EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON THE LENGTH OF 3D HYDRAULIC JUMP IN JOINT ENERGY DISSIPATOR

The joint energy dissipator combined with flaring gate pier of surface outlet, bottom outlet and stilling basin are gained more and more attention. In the operation of this joint energy dissipator, specific 3D hydraulic jump are formed in stilling basin due to flaring piers and the effect on energy dissipation are generally better than regular 2D hydraulic jump. In the design of this joint energy dissipator, the confirmation of length of stilling basin is the crucial factor, and it is closely related to the length ofhydranlic jump, which is very difficult to determine by theoretical calculation. Through general physical model research and section model research, the lengths of 3D hydraulic jump are measured and analyzed in this paper, and fitting formulas were also given in the paper on the basis of experimental data.
